Taking place throughout 2023, Nietplay League brings players of all levels together to compete for a piece of the $5,000 USD prize pool!
Two separate Leagues will run, one for EU and another for NA.
The League will begin with a Qualifier phase: four pools playing in Swiss format, competing for top spots. The top 2 players from each pool will enter Division 1, while 3rd and 4th players will enter Division 2. Swiss rounds are played Best of 3.
Once the Divisions are set, qualifiers will play Round Robin. One Best of 5 set will be played each month. Of the eight players in each Division, the top 4 will advance.
The Regional Finals will put the top 4 players in a Single Elimination bracket, played Best of 5. 3rd and 4th will play a Best of 3 placement set. All participants in the Regional Finals are "in the money"!
And finally, the winner of each Regional Final will play their counterpart from the other region in an intense First to 5 set for the title of Nietplay World Champion!
Replays will be collected from players throughout the event, to be broadcast on Twitch at niet_dev, with commentary by Wonder Chef, Sabrewoif, Chepe and perhaps more!
Firstly, 10% of the prize pool is set aside for the Nietplay World Champion pool.
Next, Division 1 will be allocated 2/3 of the pool, Division 2 receives 1/3.
Players who reach the Regional Finals will share their pool in a roughly 50:25:15:10 split.
Due to significantly stronger competition in the NA region, NA Div 2 will receive a slightly higher share than EU Div 2.
From the Nietplay World Champion pool, 70% goes to the Division 1 Champion, and 30% to the Division 2 Champion.
Division 1 | Division 2 | |
---|---|---|
Regional 4th | $150 | EU: $50; NA: $100 |
Regional 3rd | $225 | EU: $100; NA: $150 |
Regional Runner-up | $375 | EU: $150; NA: $200 |
Regional Champion | $750 | EU: $350; NA: $400 |
World Champion | +$350 | +$150 |
* The prize pool may increase if the event receives additional sponsors. If this happens, the pay scale may be tweaked slightly.
Wired LAN connection required.
Use Group Mode to ensure that Skill Points are disabled, and either Fixed Arena or Ferrum Stadium is selected.
Players may switch Support or Cheer Skill between games. The loser of a game may also change Character.
All communication will take place on the designated Discord server.
When each round is announced, players will have one week to communicate with their opponent and play their match. The Division Phase may allow for some flexibility, but in all cases communication is essential.
For the initial Swiss phase, only a handful of replays will be requested. After that, all replays should be sent in.
Do not discuss match results until after the corresponding livestream. Scores should only be reported in the designated area of the Discord server.
As this is an online tournament, lag may unfortunately occur. While the LAN connection should help, it's not a guarantee of connection quality. In the event of lag, players should attempt to amicably resolve it - especially if it's not game-changing. Should this fail, however, a connection test may be requested.

In addition to the above, I am personally investing significantly in this event. Financial help would be gratefully received and put towards costs, expanding the prize pool, and so on.
